Twin Lakes, Idaho
The Beginning:
It all started here, in Twin Lakes Idaho, with a man, Gerry who felt everyone had a right to own something written by the hand of God, The Ten Commandments. An article in a magazine stirred his conviction as it gave some sad statistics, out of 55,000 young people in trouble with the law, 16 yrs. old and younger, only 9,000 had heard of The 10 Commandments. The article went on to say at a public high school only 400 out of 1800 students could write anything about The 10 Commandments. This in a country, USA, where many consider themselves to be Christian. Feeling burdened by this, Gerry went to a bookstore to buy a copy of The 10 Commandments but found none available. God gave Gerry a vision that he needed to do something to get The 10 Commandments into people’s hands. He decided to buy some copies and go door to door selling them. As he talked with people, most didn’t know where to find them in the Bible so they would buy a copy from Gerry. As he continued to go door to door, he realized he would never be able to reach everyone in his lifetime. He tried to enlist religious leaders for help but didn’t gain much interest. Then came another article in the local newspaper, this one saying that Russia was looking for a moral code for their laws now that communism was gone. This started Gerry thinking, if he could start with the leadership of a nation, he could accomplish much more and faster. A top down approach versus a bottom up approach, and why stop at the USA, why not take them to the world?
